How do the sciences and the humanities work together to further environmental studies in the modern university? What possibilities exist? What has worked well in the past? What kinds of classes, programs, events or courses of study can and do bridge the arts and sciences to further our understanding of environmental issues as inherently interdisciplinary? Barbara Schaal, Mary-Dell Chilton Distinguished Professor of Biology and Dean of of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will join Susan Scott Parrish, who is Professor in the Department of English and the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan.
Reception to follow. This event is hosted by American Culture Studies.
